I agree that all students at all colleges cheat to some extent, if pushed enough, if desperate enough, or if immoral enough. But if you put people in a tough enough spot…most will crack.

Most schools deal w/ this by not using tests more than once, same w/projects, and by structuring group projects so you’re graded on your input individually, as well as the entire project.

AFter a certain point, though, why cheat in college? why not just leave if you’re not able to cope? But I do know that if someone’s freaked and struggling…they will crack, if only briefly. Amy

Does Princeton give full scholarships to international students?

Yes.

There are 5 main US schools (and a few specialist schools like music conservatoires) that are both need-blind - meaning that the family’s ability to pay is not considered in making an admissions decision, and full-need in that they promise to meet a students full financial need over four years.

Princeton is one of them. The others are Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Amherst.

Additionally, there are a few schools that used to be need-blind, full-need, but now are NBFN “to the extent that resources allow”. Schools like Dartmouth, Lawrence, Middlebury and Williams have a track record of being quite generous to internationals who they want, but make no promises.

There are also a few schools including Stanford and Columbia, which are need-aware (the opposite of need-blind) but full-need. Here it is much, much, much harder to get in if you require significant aid, but if you get in anyway, even with them knowing that, then they will provide enough financial aid for you to be able to attend.

Yes there are some who are given full scholarships by US colleges. However, it is not common. If there are a 1000 applications, maybe 10 get full scholarships. Partial scholarships are usually more common. Lot of candidates receive it and also some receive Teaching Assistantships or Research Assistantships which are again paid opportunities.

For full scholarships, you need to have an exceptional profile - Excellent academics, good research experience/publications, patents, excellent work ex, excellent extra curriculars or recommendations from experts in a particular area. It also helps if you have a really good GRE/GMAT score(330+ in GRE and 740+ in GMAT).

No, top universities like Stanford, MIT, University of California- Berkeley, Duke, Georgetown, etc. though not Ivy League schools provide a lot of scholarship and fellowship opportunities. Stanford, for example, helps you fund your education through a blend of student loans and fellowship awards. The program is need-based and fellowships are awarded solely on the basis of demonstrated monetary need. MIT Sloan awards fellowships based on merit. The criteria for the recipients are Academic Excellence, Professional achievements and potential contribution to the MIT Community.

Apart from these programs, there are external organizations as well that provide financial support to needy and deserving students. Some of these organizations are Aga Khan Foundation, Inlaks Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarships, Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowship, etc.

These are just some of the options I have put forth. There are definitely more choices for you out there. Make sure you do your research and consider all factors before reaching a decision.
